International Human Rights Law: Important aspect in the legal profession

Human rights law arose from the tragedies of World War II, which inspired the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights ("Universal Declaration"). The rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration paralleled those enshrined in the United Nations Charter of 1945. ("UN Charter"). The United Nations reaffirmed faith in fundamental human rights, the dignity and worth of the human person, and the equal rights of men and women in all nations large and small. One of the goals of the United Nations is to achieve international cooperation in the resolution of world issues of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian nature, as stated in Article l(3) of the UN Charter. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was seen as the first major step toward the creation of a universal bill of human rights.
